The Syracuse University Medical Benefits Plan covers breast pumps for new mothers. You may receive a covered breast pump at no cost to you if you purchase or rent an eligible model from a participating provider. A prescription for the equipment may be required.
Electric breast pumps are covered if rented/purchased in-network for all of the Syracuse University medical plans, including SUBlue, SUOrange and SUPro.
Limited coverage is available through SUBlue and SUPro for pumps purchased or rented from non-participating providers, but you will be responsible for meeting the Plan’s out-of-network deductible and coinsurance, as well as any balance above the Excellus BlueCross BlueShield allowed charge. SUOrange does not provide out-of-network coverage.
