Enrollment

No. When you submit the wait list form your child will be on the list for both sites. You will be offered a space at whichever center has an opening first. If you have a specific preference, please let a member of the Child Care Administration know. We cannot guarantee a space at a specific school.

No. Your child will be moved to the next age group by Child Care staff.

Syracuse University Child Care aims for a one-third split across all affiliations when enrolling children at the center. Space is limited! The average wait time can be 2+ years. We advise all wait-list families to seek alternative care until a space becomes available.

Changes to the waitlist occur when the other waitlist families:

  • Lose Syracuse University affiliation.
  • Find and choose to stay in alternate care.
  • Children age-up to the next list.
  • Obtain a space at the center.

Siblings of children currently enrolled at the centers receive priority placement, if there is an opening in their age group.

Health, Safety and Nutrition

We provide a morning snack and an afternoon snack. You provide your child’s lunch. We are a peanut and tree nut-free facility.

Yes. Please have your child’s physician fill out the NYS OCFS Written Medication Consent form, sections 1-18. The parent needs to fill out sections 19-23. Medication needs to be brought in, in its original, labeled container, and stored in the office.

There are five Limited Basis weeks per year. These are the times when there are fewer students, faculty, and staff around campus. Families may opt-out of care for these weeks in their yearly Syracuse University Child Care Application and Enrollment Agreement, and not be charged a tuition fee for that week. Care is provided to the children enrolled with a lower number of staff.
