Pay Bands provide a broad compensation range to encompass all positions within a job classification. Syracuse University has six pay bands ranging from Staff 2 (S2) to Staff 7 (S7). The positions within these bands are set by position required experience, education and responsibilities. Each band has a variety of positions within that have wide-ranging salary levels; therefore, supervisors should work with the HR Compensation Team to identify the appropriate compensation range for each staff position.
