Part-time faculty bargaining unit members who are not already eligible for the standard Syracuse University benefits are eligible for the Modified Benefits Plan when they have completed the probation period and are teaching at least 3 credit hours in both the Fall and Spring semester. The Modified Benefits Plan offers eligible members of Adjuncts United the opportunity to enroll in the following benefit plans:
The University conducts an Open Enrollment annually, when part-time instructors may change their benefits (except dental and vision, which is a two-year commitment). Outside of the Open Enrollment period, no changes may be made except in the case of a qualifying family status change.
