Welcome to the Syracuse University Early Education & Child Care Center. The children’s center has provided over 45 years of quality programming to children of Syracuse University affiliated faculty, staff and students. Whether you are a current or prospective parent, student, teacher, or just curious about the work we do, we welcome you to explore our website.
We provide training and employment opportunities for students and collaborate within our community. Center staff build strong relationships with the children and partner with families to ensure the best possible experience. We are responsive to children’s needs and work to incorporate all of the domains of learning into the children’s everyday experiences at the center.
When you visit us, you will see teachers engaging with and observing children’s play and documenting their conversations, questions and concerns. Teachers use observations and photos to develop curriculum, long-term projects or invitations to learning that support the children’s continued interest and engagement in a certain topic or area of interest. Children become confident when they are given the freedom to test their theories over and over again. In addition, we provide expressive art materials that allow children to communicate their feelings, explore different concepts and discover themselves as learners.
We look forward to the possibility of having your child with us in the future. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at 315.443.4482 for more information about our program.
