Flexible Work Arrangements – Guidance for Managers and Supervisors

Syracuse University recognizes and supports flexible work arrangements (“FWAs”) as a means to facilitate a productive work environment that is responsive to the changing professional and personal needs of today’s workforce. We also recognize that in this time of COVID-19 there are some unique considerations to the Flexible Work Arrangement benefit. Led by Pam Gavenda, Associate Director, Human Resources, this information session will provide an overview of FWAs for supervisors. Topics include:

  1. Differentiating FWAs from Reasonable Accommodation or other statutory mandates
  2. The different types of FWAs
  3. General considerations for assessing requests for FWAs and managing staff on FWAs
  4. FWA resources
